Pix AI
Pix AI is the album assistant. Studio admins can chat with it inside the album designer; anyone can reach it from the Claude app through the Pixamatch connector. It can check an album, change a spread or say what it would change, and find a photo by what is in it.
Pix AI is not Pixie. Pixie is the help chat in Pixamatch (Ask Pixie, the round lens button in the designer): it answers how to use Pixamatch and can look at your account, but it never changes an album.
Pix AI in the album designer
Press the ✦ Pix AI button in the designer's header. A chat card opens over the bottom-right of the canvas; type what you want in plain words ("fix the crop on this spread", "find the ring close-up") and press Enter.
- Select a spread first and Pix AI works on that spread.
- While it works, a line sweeps across the spread it is reading and the card says what it is doing.
- It changes the version you are on, and the canvas shows the change at once. Ctrl+Z undoes it.
- The – button folds the card into a round Pix AI button. A request that is running carries on; the button says when Pix AI is still working.
- When Pix AI asks you something, tap one of the answers under its question.
The chat in the designer is open to studio admins for now. Everyone else sees Coming soon on the card.
Design the story, step by step
Press Design the story at the bottom of the Pix AI card. Pix AI makes a copy called Pix AI · story and brings it on screen, so your own version stays as it was. It then works through three steps, asking a question or two at a time. Tap an answer or type your own.
- Story order. Your moments go into chapters in book order, such as Bride singles, Blessings and Couple shots. Each chapter starts on a new spread, so two chapters never share one. No spread counts yet.
- Spreads. Pix AI works out the spreads each chapter needs and asks about the awkward ones: a chapter a few photos over one spread, or one too small for a spread of its own. Choose Airy, Balanced or Compact, or ask for a set number of spreads. It never suggests dropping a photo your client starred, or one they liked when the album also holds photos they did not pick.
- Layouts and text. Pix AI builds the spreads, then asks about the cover and any text.
Only the buttons on the card move to the next step: Confirm story order, Lock … spreads and Finish the album. Back returns to the step before. Pause lets you chat as usual, for a quick crop fix, and Resume carries on. If you edited spreads by hand, Pix AI asks before it builds them again.
Connecting Pixamatch to Claude
- In Claude (claude.ai or the Claude app), open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Enter the address
https://pixamatch.com/mcpand press Connect. - Sign in to Pixamatch and press Allow.
In a chat, switch the Pixamatch connector on and name the album you want to work on.
What Pix AI does
- Before designing an album, goes through its moments with you and writes the story it will tell: the chapters in order (bride singles, family, blessings…, or the groom first on a groom-side album), what each moment is, and what it could not place. You agree the story, then it designs.
- Keeps your studio's own story templates ("Knanaya wedding", "Marwari wedding"…): the chapters in order, how much of the album each one deserves and your notes. Start a new album from one, or ask it to save the story you just agreed as a template for next time. You can also make and edit them yourself in Settings → Story templates (on a phone: You → Story templates): name the chapters in order, give the important ones a higher weight, and write "{own}" for the side the album is for so one template serves the bride's and the groom's album.
- Checks the album and lists what needs a look: cut faces, plain grids, the same layout twice in a row, photos out of time order.
- Suggests a fix for a spread: another layout for the same photos, a different photo in the big slot, a new crop.
- Finds photos by what is in them ("the ring close-up", "the couple laughing").
- Marks a photo as creation, group or detail material when it sits on the wrong kind of page. The next Rebuild uses the mark.
Through Claude, your own version is never changed
Through the Claude connector, Pix AI never writes on your version of the album. It tells you what it would change and which spread, and you make the change in the designer. It can write only on a version whose name starts with Pix AI · (made by Pixamatch); to use one, open Versions in the designer and switch to it.
What Pix AI never does
Pix AI works inside a spread: its layout, which photo is big, the order the photos read in, and the crops. It never:
- Moves a photo to another spread, or adds or removes photos.
- Splits, merges, inserts, deletes or reorders spreads.
- Changes parts, camera clocks or the Unplaced bin.
For those, use the spread organizer in the designer (⋯, then Director View… (or press Tab)). When Pix AI checks the album it still reports what only you can change, and says what to do.
Layouts you never want again
Press 👎👎 Never use this layout in the designer (on the spread toolbar, or in the spread's right-click menu). It asks first, then switches that layout off for every album: Auto-build, ↑ / ↓ layout cycling and Pix AI stop offering it. Spreads already on it keep it until you change them, and Template Studio → Layouts switches it back on. It is offered only for your studio's own layouts.
Still stuck? In the studio, ask Pixie, the help chat (Ask Pixie in the sidebar on a computer, the Pixie tab on a phone). Pixamatch answers every message.
